Accudemia Updates on July 3rd

These are the things you need to know after the update that we did today:

All Users:

You don’t have to do anything special. We have increased the security of the information stored in our servers.

Some users might receive a message saying that your password has expired. If that’s your case, then you need to go to the Accudemia login screen and click on the  “Forgot your password?”  link.

Once there, type your ID and email address to reset your password.  Follow the instructions in the email received to complete the password reset. If you are not able to reset your password that way, it might be because we don’t have your email address on file, which means that we cannot verify your identity and you need to contact your center’s administrator so they can reset it for you.

IT Administrators:

As we announced a couple weeks ago, you will need to update the import utility (ADX) for it to work. You will also need to update your Accudemia’s password.

To update your password, access Accudemia, and click on  My Profile:

Then, click on the  (Set Password)  link, type your new password and click  Accept  to close the popup. Click  Save Changes  to finish.

Now, open ADX as you would normally do, but instead of logging in, click on  More Options  and then on  Version Information:

Click  Yes  to check for updates.  Since the update is mandatory, it will start to automatically download the new version of ADX.

Once you have reset your password and updated ADX, you’re all set!

Happy Independence Day!

1-click sign-in for staff members now available

Productivity is essential when a center is busy and there's a long line of students waiting. Hopefully that's not your case, but in any case if we can save tutors, advisors or counselors a few seconds of their time, we have made their job easier and more valuable.Starting today, we're rolling out an update that lets staff members sign-in and sign-out with only one click (OK, maybe two).On the top-right part of the screen, staff members will see a button indicating whether they are signed-in or not. Clicking there will show a small popup to let them sign-in or sign-out, without having to leave the screen they are currently on.When signed-out:
When signed-in:If you are an administrator and don't think this is useful or want to disable it for any reason, you can do so in the Control Panel. Click on "User Accounts" and uncheck the option "Tutors can sign them in and out from any screen".Leave your comments below if you find this feature useful!

How-to: Scheduling Appointments

Accudemia has always offered different ways to create an appointment. Each method is intended for users trying to find appointments using different criterias. For example, if you want to list all tutors available for a certain course you might want to use the New Appointment method. The Wizard lets you find the perfect appointment for you in a simple 5 step procedure instead, where you are prompted to select the dates, services, the course and tutor you want. The 3rd way is using the Manual method, which is enabled only to administrators and it allows them to select exactly what they want and bypass several validations the system might enforce using the Wizard or the New Appointment methods. Here’s a quick description on how to use each one of these features.New AppointmentYou can find it under Center Attendance > Appointments > New Appointment. The page displays a filter with the next options: Use From/To filters to view only availability in that period of time. The center can…

Advisor? Counselor? Tutor? Pick what suits you best.

As part of our Accudemia upgrade plan, we are introducing new changes we believe you will enjoy. Accudemia is designed to work in multiple centers and each center has its own preferences and its own way to work. That has been possible since the very beginning, with the exception of choosing what terminology it should use.Starting today, each center can pick what terminology to use for its staff members. Running a Tutoring Center? An Advising Center? Now it's possible to decide exactly what word it should use depending on the context.Accudemia supports changing the terminology for Tutor (and its derivates Tutors and Tutoring) at a global level and also per center. The global term is used when a center context is not available, such as when listing all users under User Accounts. All these new configurations can be found in the Control Panel, under the Terminology section.Recommendation: Our recommendation is to set the global term to be Staff Member and then use Tutor, Advisor, Coun…
