Allow Tutor to Record Session After the Fact

Many people don’t seem to be aware of one incredible feature that Accudemia has.  If you tutor in the cafeteria or somewhere else where there’s no a sign-in station available, you can add sign-in sessions manually later.
Well, to be honest, the best way to do it would be with iAccu, using an iPhone you can create the session even with no Internet connection.  But let’s imagine your cell phone battery is dead or you just want to do it later.
First of all, an administrator must allow tutors to manually sign-in and sign-out students.  Those options can be found in the Control Panel, under the User Accounts section:
restrictions
Once that option is enabled, the tutor can login to her account, go to Sign-In/Sign-Out in the left menu and create the session(s) manually in a few clicks:

There you have to select the center, the start time and duration of the session, and optionally the course, instructor and services you helped with.  Then select the student names and click in the big blue button on the top toolbar.  That’s it.
Also, if the tutee is not in the system and you have Guest Sign-In enabled, you can search for the student called “Guest Student” with ID 000-00-0000  (those are defaults, can be different in your account), and sign him in!

1-click sign-in for staff members now available

Productivity is essential when a center is busy and there's a long line of students waiting. Hopefully that's not your case, but in any case if we can save tutors, advisors or counselors a few seconds of their time, we have made their job easier and more valuable.Starting today, we're rolling out an update that lets staff members sign-in and sign-out with only one click (OK, maybe two).On the top-right part of the screen, staff members will see a button indicating whether they are signed-in or not. Clicking there will show a small popup to let them sign-in or sign-out, without having to leave the screen they are currently on.When signed-out:
When signed-in:If you are an administrator and don't think this is useful or want to disable it for any reason, you can do so in the Control Panel. Click on "User Accounts" and uncheck the option "Tutors can sign them in and out from any screen".Leave your comments below if you find this feature useful!

Tired of that default login page?

UPDATE:This is no longer necessary. Go to the Control Panel > Appearance and Themes to update the login instructions. Also, the screenshot shown below does not reflect the actual default page. See updated post.

Most users never notice that the standard page shown to access Accudemia is just an example. You can always change the way it looks simply by sending us the new page.

Also, it’s possible to stop using that page and have a better integration in your own site. You can put the login frame into your page; let’s see how to do that. You might want to contact the administrator of your website in order to do this, it will be a bit complex if you have never dealt with HTML code.
Now, the only thing you have to do is include the following code in your page’s source:
<iframe frameborder="0" height="85px" width="190px" scrolling="no" src="https://collegename.accudemia.net/LoginForm.aspx?bgColor=%23FFFFFF&Layout=Vertical&Referer=http…

How-to: Scheduling Appointments

Accudemia has always offered different ways to create an appointment. Each method is intended for users trying to find appointments using different criterias. For example, if you want to list all tutors available for a certain course you might want to use the New Appointment method. The Wizard lets you find the perfect appointment for you in a simple 5 step procedure instead, where you are prompted to select the dates, services, the course and tutor you want. The 3rd way is using the Manual method, which is enabled only to administrators and it allows them to select exactly what they want and bypass several validations the system might enforce using the Wizard or the New Appointment methods. Here’s a quick description on how to use each one of these features.New AppointmentYou can find it under Center Attendance > Appointments > New Appointment. The page displays a filter with the next options: Use From/To filters to view only availability in that period of time. The center can…
