The long awaited update!

Many of you have been asking for new features, sending suggestions, complaints (not too many luckily) and any kind of change requests for Accudemia. I’m glad to announce that finally, after 3 long months, we have updated the site with a bunch of changes on it.

The list of changes is long, but here are the things I like more:

Site Speed:

The performance of the site was greatly improved, some parts of the site were redone from scratch with performance in mind. Also the iAccu performance was improved, the sync is now so much faster, for real.

Data Export:

You can find a new option in the left menu to export your data. By doing so, you get the raw information, so you can analyze it by using Excel or any other tool you like.

Fixed Walk-Ins:

Tired of selecting the same information every time? Well, now you can “fix” the data that won’t change between different walk-ins, so students only have to select the information that is important for them.

More options directly from the Intake System screen:

You can now double-click over a student that is signed-in, and a screen will pop up where you can edit the session comments, or sign him out. That way you don’t have to be switching from page to page.

Profile Pictures!

We also have added support for uploading profile pics. Don’t remember who that student is? Take a look at the picture to remember.

We will be extending this to other parts of the system, so you can always have a picture next to the name. Just start uploading your profile pictures!

What else? You will find a bunch of new settings for customizing account restrictions, appointments, 14 new traffic analysis reports, lots of bug fixes and enhancements, among other things.

Check out the full list of new features here.

How-to: Scheduling Appointments

Accudemia has always offered different ways to create an appointment. Each method is intended for users trying to find appointments using different criterias. For example, if you want to list all tutors available for a certain course you might want to use the New Appointment method. The Wizard lets you find the perfect appointment for you in a simple 5 step procedure instead, where you are prompted to select the dates, services, the course and tutor you want. The 3rd way is using the Manual method, which is enabled only to administrators and it allows them to select exactly what they want and bypass several validations the system might enforce using the Wizard or the New Appointment methods. Here’s a quick description on how to use each one of these features.New AppointmentYou can find it under Center Attendance > Appointments > New Appointment. The page displays a filter with the next options: Use From/To filters to view only availability in that period of time. The center can…

1-click sign-in for staff members now available

Productivity is essential when a center is busy and there's a long line of students waiting. Hopefully that's not your case, but in any case if we can save tutors, advisors or counselors a few seconds of their time, we have made their job easier and more valuable.Starting today, we're rolling out an update that lets staff members sign-in and sign-out with only one click (OK, maybe two).On the top-right part of the screen, staff members will see a button indicating whether they are signed-in or not. Clicking there will show a small popup to let them sign-in or sign-out, without having to leave the screen they are currently on.When signed-out:
When signed-in:If you are an administrator and don't think this is useful or want to disable it for any reason, you can do so in the Control Panel. Click on "User Accounts" and uncheck the option "Tutors can sign them in and out from any screen".Leave your comments below if you find this feature useful!

Implementing SSO (Single Sign-On)

Don't be intimidated by the seemingly daunting task of creating and easy way for your student, tutor, and admins to login to Accudemia via your school's portal.  It is far easier than it may seem.  As a support person here at Engineerica I noticed this feature is something that schools want to offer their users but are afraid to get started or maybe do not know where to do so.  Here we will go through the process of implementing SSO (Single Sign-On) easily for your institution.
Several Pre-RequisitesYou will need access to place hyperlinks into your webpages and create webpages/add files to your school's portal.  Usually this can be done via the Web Development Specialists at your school who can modify the files directly on your web server.  Others will need their privileges to be elevated on the school's portal or website so they can create/modify webpages on your school's website via a web-based WYSIWYG (What-You-See-Is-What-You-Get) editor. You will need to obta…
